Trump likely to meet with Zelenskyy next week - Rubio
US President Donald Trump is likely to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy next week, still hoping to reach a peace deal between Kyiv and Moscow, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Tuesday.
According to the American weekly Barron's on its website, Rubio told reporters in Israel that Trump had "numerous calls to Putin, numerous meetings with Zelenskyy, including probably again next week in New York," where the leaders will gather for the UN General Assembly.
"He will continue to try. If peace is possible, he wants to achieve it. At some point the president may conclude that it is impossible. He has not reached that point yet, but he can get there," Rubio said.
He did not provide other details, and the Ukrainian side has not yet officially commented on this information.
