Estonian PM calls for using frozen Russian assets in favor of Ukraine after Russian strike on Yarova
Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal and Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna condemned the Russian attack on the village of Yarova (Donetsk region) on Tuesday, calling for increased pressure against Russia.
“Putin’s ruthless attacks spare no one. Today, a Russian bomb hit civilians waiting for pensions, killing over 20. My condolences to their loved ones. Russia must be held accountable. About time we use its frozen assets for Ukraine,” he said on X.
Michal stressed that Vladimir Putin is a war criminal who must be brought to justice.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna also condemned the Russian attack, noting that “attacking and killing civilians as they wait to collect their pensions is a shocking display of the inhumanity shown by Putin and his army.”
“It is long past time to roll up the red carpet for him. The international community must intensify pressure on Russia to an unbearable level, and continue unwavering support for Ukraine in its fight to defend its people and its freedom,” he urged.
