Erdogan in conversation with Zelenskyy: Turkey ready to do everything possible to facilitate peace contacts at high level
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during which bilateral relations between Turkey and Ukraine, the peace process between Ukraine and Russia, as well as regional and global processes were discussed.
According to the Directorate of Communications of the Republic of Turkey, Erdogan reported that Ankara was closely following the progress of contacts in Alaska and Washington, emphasized Turkey's continued efforts to end the war and establish a lasting peace, adding that Turkey will continue to contribute to the security of Ukraine after peace is established.
"President Erdogan noted the prospect of a fair settlement of the Ukrainian-Russian war, pointing to the need to strengthen and continue negotiations between the two sides, and confirmed Turkey's readiness to do everything possible to facilitate high-level contacts that will pave the way for peace," the statement said.
