Trump wants to change name of Defense Dept to War Dept - media
US President Donald Trump wants to rename the Department of Defense to the Department of War, Politico reports.
“When we won World War I, World War II, it was called the Department of War. And to me, that’s really what it is,” Trump stated.
According to him, everybody likes that the USA had “an unbelievable history of victory” when it was Department of War. Then the USA changed it to Department of Defense.
As Trump notes, the previous name sounded more powerful, and information about a possible name change may appear in the next few weeks.
The US President added that he does not want to limit himself to just defense. “We want offense too,” he stated.
