Rada proposes allowing mobilized people aged 55+ to serve outside combat zones
The Interfaction Deputy Association Smart Politics proposes that the Verkhovna Rada allow persons over the age of 55, called up during mobilization, to serve in military service in areas where there are no hostilities.
The corresponding bill No. 13623 on amendments to certain laws on resolving certain issues of service and social support for servicemen and their families was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on August 12, the parliament's website reports.
According to the head of the Interfaction Deputy Association and one of the authors of the bill, Dmytro Razumkov (non-factional), the document provides that mobilized persons over the age of 55 serve in areas where there are no hostilities.
"If a person understands that he has the strength and desire to fight on the front line, he can choose this format of service voluntarily," Razumkov said on Telegram on Wednesday.
