SAPO head on bill adopted by Rada: This is the end of independent work of two anti-corruption institutions
The bill No. 12414 adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is the end of the independent work of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), says SAPo head Oleksandr Klymenko.
"The independence of the two institutions from any political influence and pressure on our investigations that will be conducted in the future and those that are already ongoing is essentially being destroyed. Therefore, in principle, this is the end of the independent work of the two anti-corruption institutions," the head of SAPO said at a briefing on Tuesday.
