Shmyhal holds his first talk with his British counterpart after being appointed defense minister

Ukrainian Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal has held his first telephone conversation since his appointment with UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healy.

"We coordinated further steps before the next meeting in the Rammstein format. We discussed Ukraine's key needs, in particular strengthening air defense, as well as developing joint defense projects. We agreed to coordinate joint steps weekly," Shmyhal wrote on his Telegram channel following the conversation.

He also thanked the UK for its continued support and readiness to further develop close cooperation.
