At Trump's direction, US Dept of Defense to send additional defensive weapons to Ukraine
The U.S. Department of Defense has announced that it is sending additional defensive weapons to Ukraine at the request of President Donald Trump, Pentagon chief spokesman Sean Parnell said in a statement published on the department's official website.
“At President Trump's direction, the Department of Defense is sending additional defensive weapons to Ukraine to ensure the Ukrainians can defend themselves while we work to secure a lasting peace and ensure the killing stops,” the press release reads.
The statement also says that the administration's approach to reviewing military supplies remains in place: “Our framework for POTUS to evaluate military shipments across the globe remains in effect and is integral to our America First defense priorities.”
