Sweden to provide Ukraine with over 10 new Archer artillery guns, long-range strike weapons
The Swedish government will allocate SEK 1.5 billion ($157 million) from the 18th and 19th support packages for new military capabilities for Ukraine, Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson said.
“The government has made the decision to allocate 1.5 billion SEK from support package 18 & 19 towards new military abilities for Ukraine. It consist of over 10 new Archer artillery barrels, long range strike and underwater capabilities, as well as more logistical support,” the minister wrote on X.
“The Archer system has been highly effective in Ukraine and is now in need of new artillery barrels because of that. Trucks from Volvo and Scania will also be purchased as well as a new container system for faster and safer offloading of defence equipment,” Jonson wrote.
