Rubio announces imminent sanctions if Russia refuses 30-day ceasefire
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced imminent sanctions if Russia refuses 30-day ceasefire.
Rubio said in an interview on Face the Nation that they had been telling the Russians repeatedly for almost two months about was what would happen if progress wasn't made. According to him, it is just gaining traction, and that is one of the things he reaffirmed when he was with Lindsey Graham in Turkey last week.
The Secretary of State noted that it's just a fact, and what they have been telling the Russians for weeks was bound to happen.
According to him, they acted in such a way as to give time to understand whether some progress could be achieved in the negotiations (with the Russian Federation).
