SBU prevents murder of activist and volunteer Sternenko, detains offender

Officers of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) officers prevented the murder of well-known public activist and volunteer Serhiy Sternenko, the SBU reported on its Telegram channel on Thursday.

"Today, an attempt was made on his life using a firearm. Thanks to the professional and immediate actions of the SBU officers, the offender was detained on the spot," the message reads.

According to the SBU, Sternenko's life is not in danger yet.

Investigative measures are ongoing.
