Putin doesn’t want to ensure even partial ceasefire, new and tangible pressure on Russia needed – Zelenskyy

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy calls for increased pressure on Russia to end the war, given the massive drone attacks and air strikes on Ukrainian territory.

“This systematic and constant nature of Russian strikes clearly indicates that Moscow despises the diplomatic efforts of partners. Putin does not even want to ensure a partial ceasefire. What’s needed is new and tangible pressure on Russia to put this war on a path toward ending. We should not wait until April 11, when it will be a month since Russia said “no” to the American proposal for a ceasefire. Action must be taken as soon as possible,” Zelenskyy said on X Wednesday.

He noted that last night the Russian army launched 74 drones against Ukraine, 14 of them in Kharkiv, as a result of which there were hits and there are wounded among the civilian population, including three children. Russian air strikes continue: in less than a day, the occupiers used almost 50 guided air bombs in Sumy region alone.

There were also strikes on energy facilities: in Sumy region, an FPV drone struck a substation; in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, an artillery strike damaged a power line, and almost 4,000 subscribers in two regions were left without electricity.

“We are ready to work with all our partners in the U.S., Europe, and around the world in the most constructive way to achieve this much-needed result — a dignified and lasting peace,” Zelenskyy noted.
