URCS instructors conducting field sessions on mine risk in Kherson region

KYIV. March 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Instructors of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) are teaching residents of remote settlements of Kherson region the rules of safe behavior when detecting explosive objects.

“To reduce risks and prevent tragedies, mine risk specialists from the Kherson Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross conducted a series of field information sessions in remote villages of the region. Residents were told about the dangers of explosive objects and the rules of safe behavior in case of their detection,” the URCS reported on Facebook.

The URCS recalled the algorithm of actions in case of detection of explosive objects.

If you come across an explosive object, you must stop and do not approach the find or examine it. Suspicious objects must not be touched, as they may be camouflaged or unstable. You must not move randomly, as steps in a minefield can trigger an explosion. You must leave a dangerous place by the same footsteps you entered.

You must immediately report a dangerous find to the rescue service by calling 101 or 102.

Specialists of the URCS conduct classes for people of all ages.

Kherson region remains one of the most dangerous regions of Ukraine - after the fighting, the threat of explosive objects does not disappear. It can lurk on roads, in yards, fields, and even near residential buildings.
