URCS deploys relief point for victims of Russian missile attack in Poltava

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) deployed a relief center in Poltava for victims of a Russian missile attack on a residential building on Saturday.

“Poltava. Since early this morning, the Ukrainian Red Cross team has been working at the site of a rocket attack on a residential building … A Ukrainian Red Cross aid station has been set up at the site, where volunteers are providing psychological first aid to the victims,” URCS said on Facebook Saturday.

People can also receive first aid if needed, warm up, and drink hot tea.

In addition, the Poltava regional emergency response team of the Ukrainian Red Cross has been distributing OSB boards and plastic sheeting to temporarily cover the windows shattered by the strike, in order to protect the damaged homes from the cold and damp.

As reported, As a result of the strike on the city, the entrance from the 1st to the 5th floor was destroyed, and a fire broke out. Nearby houses and 12 cars were damaged. Currently, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, seven people have been reported dead. Another 14 people have been injured, including three children.

Emergency rescue operations are ongoing.
