The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced the suspension of the program for Ukrainians fleeing to the United States, known as Uniting for Ukraine (U4U), Voice of America reported on Tuesday.
"In connection with the Executive Order of January 20, 2025, 'Protecting Our Borders,' USCIS is suspending the acceptance of Form I-134A, the online request to be a supporter and declaration of financial support," it said.
Currently, the submission of applications is on hold while the agency reviews all requests that have already been submitted.
The Uniting for Ukraine program is a streamlined initiative that provides Ukrainians fleeing the war with humanitarian entry permits to the United States.
