The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas reports that the foreign ministers of the EU member states have again decided to extend sanctions against Russia.
She made the corresponding announcement on her page on the social network X, announcing the decision taken during the meeting of the EU Council on Foreign Affairs, which is taking place in Brussels on Monday.
“Europe delivers: EU Foreign Ministers just agreed to extend again the sanctions on Russia. This will continue to deprive Moscow of revenues to finance its war. Russia needs to pay for the damage they are causing,” she said.
Earlier, there were fears that Hungary would block the extension of sanctions for Russia, the deadline for which expires on January 31.
