Ukraine may send people to service power plant on left bank of Dniester – Zelenskyy

Ukraine may send specialists to service Moldova State District Power Plant, which is located on the left bank of the Dniester, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

"We are ready to provide the coal that we have, and, by the way, Transnistria knows about this... If they need it, we will send a team of our people who will do everything very quickly at this plant," Zelenskyy said during a press conference, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reports.

The president said Ukraine can provide the coal needed to service this power plant if "they [the self-proclaimed Transnistria] want to get energy."

According to the president, they can "talk for a long time that this coal is not suitable," but today the so-called Transnistria uses Ukrainian coal "Anthracite" stolen by Russia.

Speaking about the capacity of the Moldovan State District Power Plant, Zelenskyy explained that 200-250 MW are needed to meet the needs of their population, while this power plant can produce 2 GW.

"If we give coal, they will get energy for themselves, for all of Moldova, we get energy for ourselves. And if imports allow it, we give the excess energy to Moldova," the president said.
