Kyivstar wants to buy taxi service Uklon
Mobile operator Kyivstar wants to buy online taxi service Uklon, the corresponding applications for the acquisition of Ukrainian Tech Uklon LLC, Uklon Corporate LLC, Uklon Ukraine LLC and Cypriot UKLON Ltd by the mobile operator were received by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) in December 2024.
"The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) has received an application from Kyivstar seeking approval to acquire control (via LLC Uklon Corporate) over the assets of Uklon Ukraine that facilitate operations in ride-hailing, delivery, and online advertising," the Committee told Forbes Ukraine in response to an inquiry.
The aforementioned applications are currently under review by the AMCU.
Meanwhile, Uklon co-founder and board member Serhiy Smus stated in December 2024, during the Business Breakfast with Volodymyr Fedorin, that Uklon has received numerous purchase offers over the years, but none were compelling enough.
The publication highlights that, considering the "war discount," Smus estimated the company's value at 7-8x EBITDA. However, analysts at Forbes Ukraine suggest that the current valuation of the company could range between $40 million and $80 million.
