Ukraine already has quite good contacts with Trump administration at informal levels – Podoliak
There are already quite good contacts at informal levels with the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump and the administration of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office.
"At informal levels, there are already quite extensive, good contacts at the level of Mr. Trump's administration and Mr. Zelenskyy's administration. There were even formal contacts, phone calls were immediately made between Trump and Zelenskyy after Mr. Trump won the race," Podoliak said on the air of the national telethon on Tuesday evening.
He noted that the position of Trump and his team regarding the rapid end of the war has changed, as the new administration understands what Russia is.
"They got access to information about the internal state of Russia, about Russia's motives, and so on. You see a change in the positions of Mr. Keith Kellog, the special representative for Ukraine and Russia. These are completely different positions. These are positions that relate specifically to the realization that it will not be easy with the Russian Federation," the adviser to the head of the President’s Office added.
