Kyivteploenergo deploys 12 mobile boilers for heating since start of heating season

Since the beginning of the 2024-2025 heating season, Kyivteploenergo, a municipal enterprise, has deployed 12 mobile boilers to provide emergency heating, the Kyiv City State Administration press service reported.

"Since the start of the 2024-2025 heating season, mobile boilers have been used five times in different districts of Kyiv. In total, Kyivteploenergo deployed 12 mobile boilers to heat seven hospitals and three residential buildings," the press release stated on Monday.

Kyivteploenergo uses mobile boilers to heat critical social infrastructure and residential buildings. These boilers are employed in cases where heating networks are damaged due to enemy attacks or when buildings cannot be connected to alternative heating schemes during repair work.

For instance, in Kyiv's Pechersky district on December 20, a vital medical facility was left without heating after missile attacks damaged the heating networks. Kyivteploenergo deployed three mobile boilers to heat the hospital's buildings until repairs were completed.

During extensive repair works in the Dniprovsky, Solomiansky, and Shevchenkivsky districts, mobile boilers were used to maintain stable temperatures in hospitals, which are critical for patients.

In the Sviatoshynsky district, following a gas pipeline accident, one stationary boiler house was left without gas supply. Kyivteploenergo connected a mobile boiler to the heating system to provide heat to three residential buildings.

Kyivteploenergo also said that in 2024, the municipal enterprise doubled its fleet of mobile boilers to 51 units. These autonomous boilers, powered by diesel fuel, can produce heat as needed until normal heating schemes are restored. The boilers are strategically distributed across all city districts for quick deployment when necessary.
