Poroshenko discusses with Kallas front situation, Ukraine's primary needs for strengthening political stability and security
Ukrainian parliamentarian, leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko, has held a meeting with Vice-President of the European Commission and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas in Brussels, during which he discussed with her issues of security guarantees for Ukraine and the prospect of NATO membership, the political force said on its website on Tuesday.
"During their conversation, they discussed in detail the situation at the front and Ukraine's primary needs for strengthening political and security stability ... Special attention was paid to the issue of security guarantees for Ukraine, including the deployment of a peacekeeping contingent under the auspices of the EU and integration into NATO," Poroshenko said.
During the meeting, he also noted the importance of maintaining a pan-European political consensus in countering Russian aggression and accelerating our European integration path.
"In light of the changes in the international political landscape, in particular given the new American administration, we discussed the prospects for transatlantic cooperation and challenges to the security of the European continent," Poroshenko added.
