UNICEF Representative to Ukraine head visits Chernihiv
UNICEF (United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund) allocated about UAH 28.5 million to 98 educational institutions of Chernihiv region in the current academic year, which will be used to repair food units and prepare for winter, Head of the regional military administration Viacheslav Chaus said.
"For the first time in Chernihiv, Head of the UN Children's Fund Representative Office in Ukraine Munir Mammadzade. At our meeting, my messages are unchanged. The focus is on the safety and health of children. This includes shelters, food units, and logistics. It is important that the assistance from UNICEF is also unchanged," Chaus said in Telegram on Monday.
He said that thanks to UNICEF assistance, "94 schools in 38 communities of the region and four lyceums received UAH 290,500 each, almost UAH 28.5 million. The funds were allocated for the current academic year to repair food service areas and prepare educational institutions for winter." Chaus also thanked UNICEF for its assistance to the region's health facilities.
"In particular, UNICEF financed repairs at Chernihiv Regional Children's Hospital, and also purchased vehicles, generators and medical equipment." According to Chaus, thanks to UNICEF assistance, youth spaces were created in six communities of the region (Chernihivska, Kulykivska, Menska, Bakhmatska, Nizhynska and Bobrovytska). "Our focus is on our people. The youth," Chaus noted.
"UNICEF assistance also covers other areas. Thank you for this support," the administration's head said.
