Lubinets on Kryvyi Rih shelling: Civilian objects cannot be target, Russia once again violates Geneva Conventions
The Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih, using ballistic missiles, is a crime against Ukraine and international law, said the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.
"Russia is once again cynically violating the Geneva Conventions, which explicitly prohibit attacks on civilian targets and guarantee the protection of civilians in times of war. Civilian objects - schools, hospitals, residential buildings - cannot be targeted. The war waged by Russia is aimed at destroying not only infrastructure, but also the lives, rights and freedoms of Ukrainians," Lubinets wrote on the Telegram channel.
He pointed out that as a result of the hit, an educational institution, residential buildings, and cars were damaged.
"Ukraine demands that Russia be held accountable for every crime! After all, the aggressor's impunity only encourages further crimes," the Ombudsman stressed.
As a result of the Russian strike in Kryvyi Rog, it is known about four dead and six injured already.
