Eight countries, incl Ukraine, join EU sanctions against Belarus
Several countries have joined the EU sanctions against Belarus, the European Council said on Tuesday.
According to a message on the website of the Council, it is about restrictive measures introduced on December 16, 2024 against 26 Belarusian civilians and two legal entities.
"Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway and Ukraine align themselves with this Council Decision. They will ensure that their national policies conform to this Council Decision. The European Union takes note of this commitment and welcomes it," the Council said.
As reported, on December 16, 2024, the EU sanctioned Director General of OAO Belaruskali Andrei Rybakov, two Belarusian logistic companies Ruzekspeditsiya LLC and Vlate Logistik LLC and their owners, several Belarusian businessmen, and representatives of the judicial and penitentiary systems of Belarus.
