Candidates for head of Ground Forces Academy presented to Zelenskyy

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard reports of the military, in particular, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Syrskyy and Ground Forces Commander Mykhailo Drapaty presented candidates for the position of the new head of the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Ground Forces Academy.

"A report by the military. Commander-in-Chief Syrsky, Chief of the General Staff Barhilevych, Ground Forces Commander Drapaty, Deputy Head of the Office [of the President] Palisa. The situation at the front: the Pokrovsk axis, the area of Kurakhove. Needs at the front. The Kursk operation. We discussed some personnel issues," the head of state said on the Telegram channel Monday.

He also said the appointment of the new head of the National Ground Forces Academy is being prepared.

"The Commander-in-Chief and the Ground Forces Commander presented their candidates. Five professional military men. All have experience of this war, known in the army," Zelenskyy said.

The President of Ukraine invited the military to participate in the election of the new head of the academy. According to him, the poll will be launched in the Army Plus application from Monday.

"Today, a poll starts in Army Plus regarding the necessary changes in the academy and the election of the head of the academy. The poll in Army Plus will last up to and including January 17, and based on the results of the voting, appropriate decisions will be made and the head of the academy will be appointed," he said.
