Umerov starts work in Ramstein format, meets with Pentagon chief
Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umerov has started work in the Ukraine Defense Contact Group and met with U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in Germany on Thursday.
"Held an important discussion with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to prepare for the session and address key areas of cooperation," the minister said on Facebook.
Umerov also noted that today, coalition leaders are approving roadmaps for each of the eight areas of collaboration, outlining strategic goals and critical needs for military assistance through at least the end of 2027.
"These documents, jointly developed and agreed upon by Ukraine and its partners, will serve as a foundation for sustaining support and allocating aid across areas such as air defense, artillery, armored vehicles, drones, air force, maritime security, and other critical sectors. A lot of work lies ahead," he said.
