Zelenskyy on Russian strike on Zaporizhia: Pressure on Russia for terror is necessary
Russian occupiers deliberately launched air strikes on Zaporizhia, realizing that ordinary people would suffer. Pressure on Russia for terror is needed, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
"My condolences to their families and friends. Unfortunately, the number of victims may increase. There is nothing crueller than air strikes on a city, realizing that ordinary civilians will suffer. Pressure is needed on Russia for terror. We need to support the protection of lives in Ukraine," Zelenskyy said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.
He added that "it is only possible to end such a war with a reliable peace through force."
As reported, Russian forces carried out an air strike on an industrial facility in Zaporizhia, 13 people are known to have died and 18 injured. At least four people injured in the Russian attack are in serious condition in medical institutions in Zaporizhia. The rescue operation is currently ongoing. January 9 has been declared a day of mourning in Zaporizhia.
