URCS rapid response unit in Kherson region evacuates more than 1,000 people in 2024
In Kherson region, the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) emergency response team evacuated and transported 1,158 people throughout the past year.
“In 2024, volunteers evacuated 204 people to safer areas and transported another 954 individuals to medical facilities or from hospitals to their homes,” URCS said on Facebook Friday.
The emergency response team carried out 53 visits to mitigate the consequences of shelling in Kherson and other de-occupied communities. Additionally, during evacuations, they spent over 1,500 hours on duty at the railway and bus stations.
Over the past year, the emergency response team volunteers in Kherson region provided psychological first aid to 9,346 people, administered first aid to 368 injured individuals, conducted 29 first aid training sessions for the public, and delivered 28 training sessions to improve first aid skills of emergency response team volunteers.
