Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and members of the supervisory boards of the State Rear Logistics Operator and the Defense Procurement Agency have outlined priorities for 2025 aimed at creating effective defense procurement institutions, the press service of the Ministry of Defense said.
"I held important meetings with the supervisory boards of the State Rear Logistics Operator and the Defense Procurement Agency," the ministry's press service said on Monday, citing Umerov.
As the minister reported, priorities for 2025 were discussed at the meeting with members of the supervisory boards. Namely, improving procurement mechanisms; monitoring and control over contract implementation; expanding cooperation with international partners; ensuring prompt and timely feedback for companies and suppliers; creating an effective internal control system.
"Our common goal with both supervisory boards is to form strong and effective institutions capable of promptly fulfilling key strategic tasks. The strength and defense capability of our army depend on their work," Umerov said.
The minister also said defense procurement is a strategic area that directly affects the combat capability of the Ukrainian army. "The introduction of modern approaches to resource management will improve the quality of provision of our military," the Ukrainian Defense Minister said.
Umerov thanked the members of the supervisory boards for their work. "Only joint, coordinated actions between the Defense Ministry, supervisory boards and agencies can ensure the effectiveness of defense procurement and strengthen public confidence in this process," Umerov said.
