Syria to receive 500 tonnes of flour under Grain from Ukraine
A total of 21 trucks with 500 tonnes of wheat flour, which is being transported under the initiative of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Grain from Ukraine, are already on their way to Syria with the assistance of the UN World Food Programme, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported.
The ministry specified that 33,250 families or 167,000 people will receive flour over the next few weeks. Each package weighs 15 kg and can feed a family of five for a month.
"Despite the war, Ukraine continues to ensure food security in the world. It is important for us to support the Syrian people in their difficult time," the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy quoted Minister Vitaliy Koval as saying.
