Culture Ministry confirms BBC, Belsat TV, Ukrinform, Nashe Radio, PBC and Associated Press as critically important

The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine confirmed the BBC, UNIAN TV, Belsat TV, Ukrinform, Nashe Radio, PBC and Associated Press as critically important for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the life of the population during a special period.

According to the December orders of the Ministry of Culture, it was established that the representative office of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), DGone (UNIAN TV) LLC, Office of the Polish TV channel Belsat TV in Ukraine, the Ukrainian National Information Agency Ukrinform, Nashe Radio LLC, TRC Media Market LLC and JSC National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine (PBC) meet the criteria of an enterprise, institution and organization that are critically important for the functioning of the economy and ensuring the life of the population in a special period, and are also critically important for meeting the needs of the Armed Forces, other military formations in a special period, and this status has been confirmed for them.

In addition, the status of critically important in a special period was granted to the representative office of the U.S. news agency Associated Press.

As reported, at the end of November, the government published Resolution No. 1332 with an updated procedure for reservation from mobilization using the state portal Diia, which assumes the need to confirm the criticality of all enterprises that currently have this status in order to keep their employees reserved. According to the document, enterprises will now have to have an average salary of 2.5 minimum wages (currently - UAH 20,000 per month) during the last quarter, and their employees who are candidates for reservation will also have to have such a salary for at least a month in this quarter.
