Zelenskyy announces meeting with business on Friday

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and government representatives will hold a meeting with business representatives on Friday, December 27, to find systemic solutions for the country's economic development.

"We are preparing for another conversation with representatives of Ukrainian business tomorrow – about what systemic solutions are needed now and in the future to give Ukraine more confidence and a strong economic breath," the head of state said in his evening address on Thursday.

According to him, on Thursday he paid a lot of attention to domestic issues – "those decisions, those innovations that are needed in the future so that Ukraine has the opportunity to return as many of our people as possible who left because of the war."

"We must create all the necessary economic and social incentives for Ukrainians to work in Ukraine, to work for Ukraine, to make more potential for Ukraine in order to be on an equal footing in global competition," Zelenskyy said.

He said he had held a meeting on this matter with Deputy Prime Ministers Mykhailo Fedorov and Oleksiy Kuleba, as well as the team of the Presidential Office.

In November, the Presidential Adviser on Communications Volodymyr Lytvyn said that a permanent format of communication between the head of state and business could be created, similar to the one that exists with journalists and which is being developed with representatives of civil society.

The last time Zelenskyy met with business was on February 15, 2024, and then business was represented by members of the Council for Support of Entrepreneurship in Martial Law ("Council of Seven"), while a broader meeting with business, which was attended by about 30 business owners and managers, as well as representatives of business associations, was held at the end of June 2023.
