Poroshenko against holding elections in Ukraine in near future
MP of Ukraine, leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko, spoke out against holding any elections in Ukraine in the near future, calling the campaign for them a Russian informational and psychological operation.
"Whoever campaigns for the elections now is a propagator of the Russian PSYOP. Because Russia wants us to be weak. And some short-sighted politicians who want to break through to power do not understand that we can lose Ukraine because of these processes," Poroshenko said in an interview on the Channel 5 on Wednesday.
According to him, in the current conditions, Ukraine should fight for the support of Americans and Europeans, building trusting relations with them. "And for this we need to fight corruption, we need to fight incompetence, fight electoral schizophrenia and ensure unity in the country. And then Ukraine will be strong," the politician noted.
Poroshenko said that he believes in the possibility of peace in Ukraine in 2025, but "for this we must become stronger."
