Latvian FM after shelling: Butcher in Kremlin is not interested in peace, Russia's policy is war
Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže condemned Russia's massive shelling on Christmas, pointing out that the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine is to continue supporting Ukrainians.
"The butcher in Kremlin is not interested in peace, Russia's policy is war. The only way to get to a just and lasting peace in Ukraine is continue supporting Ukraine on the battle field, in the energy sector, financially and politically, while containing Russia," she said on X social media.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that, according to preliminary data, during the latest massive attack, Russia used more than 70 missiles of various types, the target was energy, air defense managed to shoot down more than 50 missiles, but there are hits.
Zelenskyy stressed that Putin deliberately chose Christmas for the attack. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha called Russia's latest strike on the Ukrainian energy system Putin's response to those who spoke of an illusory "Christmas truce."
