USA is more resolved than ever to bring peace to Ukraine – Special Envoy Kellogg in response to Christmas shooting
Ukraine was brutally attacked on Christmas and the United States is more resolved than ever to bring peace, future U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg said.
"Christmas should be a time of peace, yet Ukraine was brutally attacked on Christmas Day. Launching large-scale missile and drone attacks on the day of the Lord's birth is wrong. The world is closely watching actions on both sides. The U.S. is more resolved than ever to bring peace to the region," Kellogg said on the X social network on Wednesday.
Head of the President's Office of Ukraine Andriy Yermak thanked Kellogg for his reaction to the shelling of Ukraine. "Thank you General Keith Kellogg for an honest, human position. The Russian shelling of civilian infrastructure on Christmas is especially cynical. Although over the years of this war, Russia has proven that the murder of civilians and children is the favorite business of the Putin regime and his army commanders. The world should not be like this," he said on Telegram.
As reported, on Christmas Eve, Russian occupiers launched 78 missiles and 106 drones at Ukraine, of which 59 missiles and 54 drones were shot down by the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces, and 52 did not reach their targets (they were lost).
The enemy attacked Ukrainian energy facilities in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zaporizhia regions. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that there were hits as a result of the Russian attack.
In Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, as a result of the shelling, almost 3,000 houses were left without heat supply, an employee of a thermal power plant was killed in Dnipro.
