President's Office discusses with Austrian diplomat continuation of aid to Ukraine, steps to bring fair peace closer
Deputy Head of the President's Office of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva discussed with Secretary General of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of Austria Nikolaus Marschik the expansion of support for Ukraine from Austria in continuation of the negotiations between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Federal Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer in Paris.
As the Presidential Office reported on Saturday, Zhovkva thanked Austria for the humanitarian and financial assistance provided to Ukraine and for the temporary shelter for our people, and also spoke about the activities of the newly created Ministry of National Unity.
Zhovkva also emphasized the importance of coordinating the common position of European countries on ways to achieve a fair and lasting peace for Ukraine.
The interlocutors also discussed continued assistance in humanitarian demining and the participation of Austrian companies in restoration projects.
The Austrian diplomat assured of continued support for Ukraine and expressed his readiness to facilitate Ukraine's rapid progress in negotiations on EU membership.
Zhovkva noted the decision of the Austrian OMV to terminate the contract with Gazprom for the supply of Russian gas to Austria.
Zhovkva also invited Austria to join the G7 Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine and to consider the possibility of concluding a bilateral agreement.
