Zelenskyy intends to discuss protection of Ukrainian energy sector at European Council meeting
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy intends to discuss the protection of the Ukrainian energy sector at the European Council meeting in Brussels, which is the main priority for Ukraine.
Zelenskyy told reporters before the start of the European Council meeting that the main priority for Ukraine was the protection of its energy sector, and that they would discuss it that day. He explained that he was referring to the safety of nuclear power plants, emphasizing that it is very dangerous not only for Ukraine, but also entire of Europe if something went wrong. He also mentioned the importance of preserving gas storage facilities, which are significant for both Ukraine and other Europeans.
The President also said that the second important point for him is the increase in military production, which really helps and works.
In addition, Zelenskyy noted that he intends to discuss at the European Council how to urgently help Ukrainian children, and maintain and make the Ukrainian school network safer. The President explained that we are talking about bomb shelters, about food products, about many different things that are very important for Ukrainian families.
Zelenskyy concluded by stating that, as Mr. President (Antonio Costa, President of the European Council) had already mentioned, the second point at the European Council would be Europe and peace. He said that this is very important for Ukraine, especially starting from the beginning of the next year. He emphasized the need for unity between the United States, the EU, and European countries, noting that this unity was crucial to achieving peace. Zelenskyy expressed the belief that only together could the United States and Europe stop Putin and save Ukraine.
