Russia has no red lines, there should be none for us – French Ambassador
France considers it important to be open to different options for supporting Ukraine, as Russia has no red lines, Ambassador of France to Ukraine Gael Veyssiere said.
"We should all think about how we can help Ukraine, depending on the situation, of course. And we should not have any red lines, because the Russians have no red lines. That means we shouldn't have any either. And we have repeatedly said that if it is useful and necessary and there is a request from the Ukrainian authorities, we could consider deploying French troops in Ukraine. So, of course, we are thinking about it," he said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
The diplomat emphasized that everything depends on Ukraine's needs, but France is open to discussing this issue. He also noted that President Emmanuel Macron said that France should not hold back from considering it.
"This issue is not on the agenda right now. But we must prepare ourselves in case this issue is on the agenda," Veyssiere said.
