Trump disagrees with sending missiles deep into Russia
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has said that Washington's decision to allow Ukraine using American weapons for deep strikes into Russia is dangerous.
"I disagree very vehemently with sending missiles hundreds of miles into Russia. Why are we doing that? We're just escalating this war and making it worse," he said in an interview with Time issued on Thursday.
Trump emphasized that "that should not have been allowed to be done," adding that this decision was "a very big mistake.
He also criticized Kyiv's position on the issue.
"I think the most dangerous thing right now is what's happening, where Zelenskyy has decided, with the approval of, I assume, the President, to start shooting missiles into Russia. I think that's a major escalation. I think it's a foolish decision," Trump said.
