Zelenskyy visits advanced underground surgery group in Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has visited the first in Ukraine advanced underground surgery group and awarded medical workers with state prizes.
"This hospital has already saved more than 1,000 lives. Medics here receive wounded fighters directly from the battlefield and provide them with medical care. I personally thanked and awarded our medics," he said on the Telegram channel on Thursday.
The head of state thanked the doctors for their service and for saving lives of Ukrainian defenders.
As reported by the presidential press service, Zelenskyy examined the surgery and intensive care units of the underground hospital, as well as equipment and the conditions of work and living.
The President awarded the doctors with Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky 3rd Class and Order of Danylo Halytsky.
The underground hospital has an area of 500 square meters and a capacity of receiving up to 200 patients per day. The facility possesses a full range of modern medical equipment and everything necessary for the accommodation of medical workers.
