Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has denied information about sending allied troops to Ukraine after the ceasefire.
“I also want to take this opportunity to stop speculation about the possible military presence of a country in Ukraine after a truce or peace is reached. Mr. President, you are aware of this, and we have talked about it. Decisions on Poland's actions will be made in Warsaw and only in Warsaw,” Tusk said at a joint briefing with French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday.
Later, in a joint statement by the two politicians, the Polish Prime Minister said that joint work to achieve a just peace in Ukraine was discussed at the meeting. Tusk said that he and French President Macron adhere to a clear position that Ukraine should be present at any peace talks.
"We have an absolutely unequivocal position that Ukraine should be present at any negotiations [on peace], and every option, every proposal should also be accepted by our friends in Kyiv," Tusk added.
