Biden at G20 summit urges leaders to support Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity
U.S. President Joe Biden called on the G20 countries at the summit in Brazil to support Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"The United States strongly supports Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Everyone around this table, in my view, should as well," he said during the first plenary session of the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro on Monday.
He said Russia's brutal invasion of Ukraine has led to the worst food crisis in human history.
Biden said all must work to end the conflicts and crises that undermine progress on food security around the world.
Speaking about the situation in Gaza, the U.S. leader said Israel has the right to defend itself, and the United States is the world leader in providing humanitarian aid to Gaza. Biden urged the United States will continue to seek a ceasefire agreement that will ensure the security of Israel and the security of Gaza and its home, and will end the suffering of the Palestinian people and their children. He asked everyone to increase pressure on Hamas, which is currently refusing to accept that deal.
