Situation in Ukraine’s east difficult: invaders advance slowly – Zelenskyy

The situation in the eastern directions of the front is really difficult, there is a slow advance of the Russian occupiers, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

"The situation in the East is really difficult. And there is a slow, but nevertheless, pressure and advancement of the Russians for various reasons: filling our brigade with people with prepared exercises, filling the brigades with weapons. All these processes were quite slow," Zelenskyy said in an interview with Suspilne on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Ukrainian Radio.

According to the president, one can't just fill a brigade with people "if the brigade is waiting for one or another weapon." Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine had been waiting for the delivery of some weapons for 12 months since the date agreed in the U.S. Congress.

In addition, it is necessary to rotate the teams and replace them with others. "Imagine that other brigades are understaffed. No one wants to just throw them like meat, like Russians," the head of the Ukrainian state stressed.
