Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi arrived in Ukraine on Saturday, November 16, according to the Japanese Embassy.
"On November 16, Japanese Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi arrived in Ukraine. This is one of his first foreign visits," the message posted on the social network X says.
The previous Japanese Foreign Minister, Yoko Kamikawa, paid a visit to Ukraine in January this year.
Earlier, Kyodo News reported on Takeshi's visit. According to the publication, the foreign minister arrived in Kyiv by train from Poland and is due to meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiha, he also has scheduled talks with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
