Special Operations Forces command confirms info about detention of ‘mole’ of Russian GRU in its ranks

Special Operations Forces (SOF) command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirms the information of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) about the detention of a "mole" of the Russian GRU – lieutenant colonel, commander of one of the units of the SOF.

"The SOF command was aware of the investigative actions against this serviceman and comprehensively facilitated its conduct," the SOF said in a Telegram message on Friday.

The message regretfully notes that while the SOF operators are performing combat missions behind enemy lines in the temporarily occupied territories, there are those who are trying to obstruct from the inside.

"The SOF continues to carry out tasks, destroy the enemy and liberate the Ukrainian land from the occupiers. And all those who think they can prevent this and put the lives of our soldiers at risk will be exposed and sent to jail. The enemy will feel the results of successful operations on himself," the message emphasizes.

Earlier it was reported that the SBU detained a "mole" of Russian military intelligence, who transmitted plans for special operations of the Defense Forces behind enemy lines. He turned out to be a lieutenant colonel, the commander of one of the units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The occupiers recruited him before the outbreak of a full-scale war.
