USA to impose sanctions on third-country intermediaries assisting Russia in military sphere – Yellen
Washington will introduce new sanctions, including against structures in third countries that do business with Russia, in order to limit the development of the Russian military sphere, U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Tuesday.
"Sanctions will also be imposed against intermediaries in third countries who supply Russia with key resources for its military," Western media quote the minister as saying at the annual meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group, which are taking place October 21 to October, 26.
She also said that sanctions would be announced next week, Bloomberg added.
Yellen noted that the Treasury Department is working tirelessly to unlock the value of Russia's frozen sovereign assets to help Ukraine."
