Lubinets appeals to UN, ICRC regarding execution of Ukrainian POWs near Selydove
The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights appealed to the UN and the ICRC in connection with new facts of the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russians.
"The aggressor country has again violated the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War! Once again, I reported to the UN and the ICRC about the war crime of the Russian Federation, so that the organizations could record it. It is already known that more than 100 Ukrainian soldiers were executed by the Russians upon capture!" Lubinets wrote on the Telegram channel.
"International organizations and the democratic world must finally wake up and take measures to bring war criminals to justice," he added.
As reported, on October 18, 2024, at 14:38, representatives of the Russian Armed Forces captured two Ukrainian servicemen in the Pokrovsk district, after which they were shot. An investigation was launched by Ukrainian law enforcement officers into the execution of prisoners of war.
