Zelenska Foundation restores stadium in Hostomel damaged during occupation
The First Lady of Ukraine, together with the team of Olena Zelenska Foundation, visited the restored central stadium of the city of Hostomel, Kyiv region, damaged during the Russian occupation in 2022.
As reported on the presidential website on Friday, the reconstruction of the facility was carried out by the Foundation thanks to the support of the Bayern football club (Munich) and the Bavarian Industrial Association with the assistance of the Embassy of Ukraine in Germany. Two new mini-fields, outdoor lighting were installed at the stadium, the electronic scoreboard and the roof of the stands were replaced, the locker room and coaching room were repaired.
"Today, more than 6,200 children, including IDPs, live in the de-occupied city. Therefore, creating space for their development was extremely important for our team. I am glad that we managed to renovate this stadium. I hope that it will become a place for new teams and future football stars to emerge," the first lady said.
