Zelenskyy discusses with Holy See conference on return of deported children to Ukraine, release of civilian hostages, POWs
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed in Vatican the preparations for a conference on the return of deported children to Ukraine, the release of civilian hostages and prisoners of war (POW), which will take place in Canada on October 30-31, the press service of the Ukrainian head of state has said on Friday.
All these issues were addressed during the President's meeting with Secretary of State of the Holy See, Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations, Archbishop Paul Gallagher.
"The President and the Secretary of State of the Holy See discussed the implementation of the Peace Formula, with a particular focus on the point regarding the return of deported children and the release of civilian hostages and prisoners of war. Special attention was given to the preparation of a conference based on this point, which will take place on October 30-31 in Canada," the press service said.
The interlocutors also talked about the results of Cardinal Pietro Parolin's recent visit to Ukraine.
"Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that this will help unite international efforts in the process of restoring Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity," it said.
