Trump expects 'good' meeting with Zelenskyy, says they have good relations
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump expects to have a "good" meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and said he has good relations with both the Ukrainian leader and Putin.
"He's been through hell, his country has been through hell like few counties have ever seen, like it's happened everywhere and nobody has seen anything like it. It's a terrible situation," Trump said before talks with Zelenskyy.
Trump also expressed his expectations for a good meeting with the Ukrainian leader.
"You know, it takes two to tango, and we're going to have a good meeting today. And I think the fact that we're together at all today is a very good sign," he said.
Trump also said that he and Zelenskyy have a "very good relationship," and added that he has a good "relationship with President Putin." In turn, Zelenskyy responded: "I hope you have a better relationship with us."
In addition, according to Trump, if he wins the election, he will be able to "resolve" the issue of Russia's war against Ukraine.
"I think if we win, we will resolve this very quickly, very quickly. I really think we will resolve this," he said.
"And if we have a win, I think long before, on January 20th, before I would take a presidency, but long before that, we will can work up with something that is good for both sides," the U.S. presidential candidate expressed confidence.
